The October Odyssey is a 2 day Regional event.
To be competitive in the competition you must run the course for your age class - see below for details.
October Odyssey certificates will be awarded to class winners based on the combined result over both days.
This day is also an NEOL event - to be competitive you should run the course for your class. See here for further details.
The area is to the SE of the Washington Galleries shopping complex.
It can be accessed from the A182, Washington Highway or the A1231, Sunderland Highway.
|Parking :||There are ample free parking places around the Galleries and probably the nearest may be the ones to the west of ASDA at grid ref NZ299560 nearest post code NE38 7NF. This is a short 5 minute walk to registration which will be in the Leisure Centre, to the south of ASDA, grid ref NZ301559 nearest post code NE38 7NF. There is NO parking at the Leisure Centre. Registration will be signed from the SE corner of ASDA.|
DAY 1 from 10.30 - 12.30, with starts from 11.00 - 1.00.

Senior (aged 21 and over) - £6
Junior (aged 20 and under) + students - £2
|Pre-entry :||There is NO pre-entry for this event. Entry on the day only - first come first served.|
This event is to use the SportIdent (SI) electronic punching system.
SI cards will be available for hire on the day at a cost of £1 per day.
There will be a £40 charge for un-returned or lost SI cards.
Note - SI cards must be used by the same person each day.
|Map & area :||Day 1 - Washington Central (kindly loaned to us by NATO) - Scale 1:5000, 5m contours, symbols to ISSOM2007, surveyed and drawn by Fred Miller (NATO), 2017, last used in June 2017. Maps will only have a limited legend. Course 1 map wil be slightly larger than A4 (365 x 280), other maps will be A4 in size, printed on waterproof paper and have the courses overprinted. Courses 2-4 will have double sided maps. The area is a typical 'new town' urban area with quiet estate roads, pathways and open spaces.|
|Control desc :||will be on the front of the map for all courses. They will be in written format for Course 7, but pictorial for all other courses. They can be downloaded here. Click here for a copy of the IOF pictorial control descriptions.|
|Facilities :||Toilets, shops, eating areas are available in the Galleries and toilets are also in the Leisure Centre. Sorry there will be no water at the finish, please bring your own supply.|
|Dogs :||Dogs will be allowed, but please not on the courses.|
|Results :||Full results will be posted on the NN website - www.northern-navigators.org.uk
