on Saturday, 15th June 2019
F I N A L D E T A I L S
This is the second event in the 'North Country Triple' - two days of linked Urban / Sprint events in N.E.Cumbria and Tyneside, comprising a BL Urban event in Brampton (Saturday morning), an NN Sprint event in Saltwell Park (Saturday afternoon) and culminating with a NATO Urban event in Newcastle / Gateshead (Sunday morning).
Saltwell Park can be accessed from the A167 (Durham Road) - this links the A1, at the Angel of the North, through Gateshead to the centre of Newcastle. The event will be signed from a junction on the Durham Road and Enfield Road at grid ref NZ257615, nearest postcode NE9 5AY.
On-street parking can be found at the north end of East Park Road, nearest post code NE8 4JJ - this will be fairly close to registration / start and finish, using the NE entrance to the park. There is also alternative on-street parking in the streets to the north of the park. The entrance to the main car park at the SE end of the park is at grid ref NZ255606, nearest postcode NE9 5AT - please note that the park will be busy so there may not be many free spaces here and it is about 1km from registration.
There are many bus services that use the Durham Road - the most frequent being the 1 and 21 service from Newcastle, which will drop you off near the Enfield Road junction - about a 5 minute walk to registration.
Registration opens 3.30. Starts are from 4.00-6.00pm
Registration will be at a small open ended Pavillion about 100m south from the NE entrance to the park.
The start is about 100m west from here and the finish is close to the start.

The area is situated in the heart of Gateshead and comprises a 55-acre Victorian urban park with formal gardens, open grass areas, wooded areas, childrens play areas, a maze, a boating lake, bowling greens, plus a visitor centre and cafe.
Courses 1 and 2 have a control in the maze - an enlarged view of which is shown in the bottom right of the map.
Note that the Olive Green colour indicates an uncrossable area - this includes low level flower beds and shrubs - please do not trample through any obvious formal flower beds.
The park is patrolled by Park Wardens and local Community Police officers.
|Control desc :||All courses will use IOF pictorial control descriptions, which will be on the front of the map. These can be downloaded here. Click here for a copy of the IOF pictorial control descriptions. Loose descriptions will be available on the day.|

There will be no water at the finish.
