	Invite you to a local event,
	incorporating the NE round of the Yvette Baker Trophy at
	Hamsterley, Low Redford & Windy Bank
			Sunday, 18th October 2009

Travel :		Hamsterley Forest is fairly accessible from the A1 being signed with the brown tourist signs.
		The event will be 'O' signed from a road junction in Hamsterley Village at grid reference NZ115311
		
Parking :		Will be on flat grassy areas at grid ref NZ079308
		Near the start of the old permanent course for Windy Bank (about halfway between the Visitor Centre and the Grove).
		There will be a toll collected on entry to the forest by the Forestry Commission.
		It was hoped that a reduced rate could be negotiated for the event, but regrettably
		the FC are insisting that the toll be paid in full (currently £3/car).

Registration :	from 10.00 – 12.00.	Starts : from 10.30 - 12.30.

Courses :		Yellow, orange, light green, green, blue, brown.
		This event is to host the NE round of the Yvette Baker Trophy.
		Please see your team captain for details of courses to run to remain competitve.

Fees :		Seniors (M/W21 and over) - £7 (£2 discount with current BOF card)
		Juniors (M/W20 and under) and students - £2
		Schoolchildren - £1

Entries :		There is NO pre-entry for this event. First come first served.
		It may ease the load at registration if YBT team captains could supply details of competitors
		before the event and EMIT cards could be set aside to pick up on the day.

EPS :		This event is to use the EMIT electronic punching system.
		EMIT cards (bricks) will be available to hire on the day free of charge.
		Competitors will be responsible for these cards and will be charged for their loss.
		Instruction in the use of the system will be available on the day.

Map :		Low Redford & Windy Bank - scale 1:10000, 5m contours, drawn by Dave Caudwell 2000,
		with minor updates for this event. Area last used 2003.
		Maps will have course overprinted and on waterproof paper.
		If you prefer further protection then please supply your own bag (A4)

Terrain :		The area is a mixture of coniferous and deciduous woodland, with some rough open giving reasonable runability.
		There are some patches of bramble and small areas of bracken which are unmapped.
		There may also be some unmarked bike tracks and extraction lanes.

Facilities :	Limited toilets, orange squash at finish.
		Full facilities are available at the Forestry Visitor Center. (approx 1km).

Dogs :		Dogs are allowed under close control, but not on the courses.
		
Results :		Individual split times will be available at the download station on the day.
		Simple results will also be posted periodically here.

		If you require a paper copy of the results, please leave your details at registration with 40p to cover postage.
