This is the fifth event in the North East Orienteering League (NEOL).
To be competitive in the league you must run the designated course for your class. See NEOL page for full details.
|Travel :||The area is within easy reach of Hexham (approx 20km) and can be accessed from the A69 trunk road. It will be O-signed from a junction on the B6318 approximately 2.5km west of Twice Brewed at grid ref NY726662, nearest postcode NE49 9PH.|
|Parking :||Parking will be on a firm sloping field at grid ref NY723688, nearest postcode NE49 9PP|
|Registration :||from 10.00 - 12.00. Starts : from 10.30 - 12.30, courses close 2.30.|
|Pre-entry :||There is NO pre-entry for this event. Entry on the day only - first come first served.|
Yellow, Orange, Light Green , Short Green, Green, Blue, Brown (see control descriptions for details).
To be competitive in the NEOL you must run the course or above for your class.

|EPS :||This event will use the EMIT 'Touch Free' electronic system. E-tags will be available free of charge on the day, but competitors will be charged for any loss. Unlike previous systems the E-tag is worn much like a wrist watch and needs to be passed within about 10-15cm of the control box, there is a small red LED on the E-tag which flashes for about 10 seconds indicating a successful pass. It will be your responsibility to check - do not try to pass the control too fast. There is no clear station for this system. The E-tag is cleared at the start control and stopped at the finish. There will be a sample control near registration for you to see the E-tag in action. Instruction in the use of the system will be available on the day. Lost or non-returned E-tags will be charged at £55.|
|Map :||Edges Green - 1:10000, 5m contours, re-surveyed and drawn by Rob McKenna 2008, symbols to ISOM2000, last used Sept 2014, updated for this event.|
|Terrain :||The area is situated to the north of the Roman Wall and west of Housesteads - a World Heritage site. It is mainly open moor land made up of of rough, sheep grazed pasture and undulating hills of varying runability. The rough pasture is generally fairly fast, but there are areas of reeds and marsh grass to hinder progress. Due to the recent dryish weather, many of the mapped marshes have dried up.|
|Control desc :||Control descriptions will be will be on the front of the map and will be in written format for Yellow and Orange courses, all the other courses will be in pictorial format. |Facilities :||Limited toilet tent, first aid at registration. Sorry there will be no water at the finish, please bring your own supply.|
|Dogs :||Sorry, but dogs are NOT allowed at this event - there may be cattle and sheep grazing in the parking area. However, there may be limited parking in the lane leading to the area for dog owners.|
|Results :||Full results will be posted on the NN website - www.northern-navigators.org.uk
